Porthleven is preparing to welcome hundreds of visitors this Sunday as the village hosts Porthleven Lifeboat Day 2026.
The annual fundraiser in support of the RNLI takes place on Sunday, August 9 from 11am, promising a lively mix of entertainment, demonstrations and family activities along the harbour.

Organisers say this year’s event will be an “amazing day” with something for all ages. The programme includes:
- Live music throughout the day
- A bumper raffle featuring “amazing prizes”
- Shop window displays created by local businesses
- A lifeboat display offering visitors the chance to see the RNLI vessel up close
- Climbing wall sessions
- A judo demonstration
- A mermaid meet and greet
- And more activities still to be announced
The event aims not only to raise vital funds for the RNLI’s lifesaving work, but also to celebrate the volunteers who crew the Porthleven lifeboat and support the station throughout the year.
