It was a very special moment for the team at RSPCA Cornwall Branch this week as former residents and their families gathered for a reunion walk.
As part of the branch’s 30‑year celebrations, a small group of former animals met up at Silverbow Country Park to catch up, hear how life has changed since adoption, and celebrate just a handful of the thousands of happy endings that have begun at the centre over the past three decades.
- Maisie: Rehomed alongside her best friend Ninja the cat. As a bonded pair, it was vital they found a forever home together.
- Maggie: Came into the branch with a painful cherry eye and required surgery before she could be adopted.
- Jessie: Born in foster care after her mum was rescued from a heartbreaking case involving 65 dogs living in a flat.
- Derek: Found in an attic with his littermates and has come an extraordinary distance since those early days.
- Georgio: One of the Golden Retrievers rescued from the former Golden Retriever Experience in Minehead, Somerset.
A spokesperson for the branch said: “Seeing them all again and knowing how far each of them has come was incredibly special. Every rescue story is different, but they all have one thing in common: a second chance.
"We’re so grateful to everyone who helps animals like these find the happy endings they deserve.”
