Theatre Royal Plymouth (TRP) is presenting 24 Hour Plays: TRP for a second year, and the search is on for South West talent.
The actors call out for this experimental opportunity is open now (09 May) until 23 May. Auditions will be held on Friday 06 June.
Following the call out and audition, the shortlisted actors will gather for the first time at an introductory evening on Friday 04 July, where they will be split into four companies, each comprising of a writer, director and three actors.
Writers from each group will work overnight to create brand-new 15 minute plays. The groups will then meet again on the morning of Saturday 05 July to rehearse before performing their 24 hour play in The Drum in front of a live audience that evening.
Jodie Paget, TRP Assistant Producer, said: “We’re really excited to be building on the success of last year’s sold out event. When we say 24 hours, we really mean it - it's such a whirlwind of an experience but so rewarding at the same time. It’s very much at the heart of our Artist Development programme and is a celebration of local artists and stories.
“This year, we’re once again looking for actors who represent our brilliant city and the South West region - whether you are emerging or an experienced performer, if you're looking for an exhilarating challenge we encourage to get in touch.”
This is a paid opportunity. To apply for the 24 Hour Plays: TRP, please submit a CV and/or Spotlight link to Artist.development@theatreroyal.com. Applicants must be 18 and over and be available 04 and 05 July.
