The Armed Forces community in Penzance received a major boost today as a new Armed Forces Hub was officially opened at the John Daniel Centre in Heamoor.
Deputy Mayor Cllr Penny Osborne of Penzance Council cut the ribbon to formally launch the hub, which aims to provide practical support, social connection and specialist guidance for former service personnel across West Cornwall.
She was joined by Cllr Phillip Jameson, whose ongoing backing for the Armed Forces community was warmly acknowledged by organisers.

Veterans attending the event were able to meet one another, speak with support teams and explore new partnership opportunities designed to strengthen local provision.

Organisers said they were “delighted” by the turnout and the enthusiasm shown by both veterans and partner groups, describing the launch as an important step in expanding support networks for those who have served.
The hub will continue to develop its offer in the coming months, with plans to host regular drop‑ins, wellbeing sessions, employment support and community activities tailored to the needs of local veterans.
