South West Water is urging people not to swim in reservoirs and lakes as hot weather continues this week.
With Met Office weather warnings in force for extreme heat across much of the south west of England, the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is urging people heading to the region’s coastline to visit RNLI lifeguarded beaches and follow essential water safety advice that could save lives.
Trevince – the country estate in Gwennap, at the heart of Cornwall’s historic mining district – is launching a Pollinator Pathmaker garden on Friday 26 June at 10.30am when Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg, the artist who conceived the concept, will cut a ribbon to declare it officially open for visitors of all kinds to enjoy throughout the season.
Due to a rare red warning of extreme heat, GWR is warning customers of essential travel only on Wednesday and Thursday.
