Dancing Queens – and Kings – are in for a treat when Cornwall Air Ambulance’s much-loved Helifest returns in just 16 days, with a full day of entertainment for all the family, including a performance from one of the UK’s premier live ABBA tribute bands, Take a Chance On Us.
Taking place on Saturday, July 4th, from 10.30am until 6.00pm at Scorrier House in Redruth, Helifest celebrates not only the work of Cornwall Air Ambulance but also the amazing efforts of Cornwall's wider blue light community.
The event gives ticket holders the chance to meet members of the charity’s crew and representatives from emergency services across the region, hear talks, explore various emergency vehicles and watch exciting live demonstrations.
Helifest promises something for all ages. Throughout the day, visitors will be able to listen to fantastic live music, grab refreshments from local Cornish traders, enjoy fairground rides, entertainment, arts and crafts stalls and much more.
Additionally, Adventure 001 will be offering their amazing helicopter flight experiences throughout the day.
Joining Take a Chance On Us on Helifest’s main stage will be an eclectic lineup of talented performers including sea shanty favourites Barrett’s Privateers, amazing all-women Cornish band Kana and the much-loved Porthleven solo artist Seamus McKenna. Also bringing the energy with sing-along classics will be The Tregony Teachers and on the Community Stage audiences can enjoy even more memorable performances from fantastic local artists.
Helifest has become Cornwall Air Ambulance’s flagship event, helping to raise vital funds that enable the charity to continue delivering critical care to seriously ill or injured people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
Tickets for Helifest are available now through the Cornwall Air Ambulance website. The charity has again left ticket prices unchanged, helping to make the event as accessible as possible for families. Tickets are priced at £5 for children, £10 for adults, and £20 for a family ticket, which two adults and up to three children.
Karen Hurn, Head of Fundraising and Philanthropy at Cornwall Air Ambulance, said: “It has been so wonderful to see the popularity of Helifest grow over the past five years and we’re so excited to be bringing our friends and supporters together for what will be another brilliant day out for all the family.
“Helifest gives us an opportunity to shine a light on the outstanding work our blue light colleagues deliver every single day and offers a chance for us to thank our community in person for all the generosity they show us. We can’t wait to see everyone there, so with just over two weeks to go, make sure you grab your tickets!”
Cornwall Air Ambulance is the UK’s first air ambulance service, with 2027 marking its 40th anniversary. The charity receives no direct government funding towards running costs and needs to raise over £9m a year to keep the service running. Therefore, the generosity of the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and their support for events such as Helifest is vital.
