This summer, Lusty Glaze Beach is set to host one of the biggest names in the history of electronic music. Legendary DJ, broadcaster and Ibiza Classics creator Pete Tong will headline a monumental Sundowner Session on Saturday 22nd August 2026.
Bringing decades of dance culture to Newquay’s iconic cove, this open-air beach party will deliver an unforgettable evening of world-class DJing, sea views and summer energy on the Cornish coast.
“We couldn’t be more excited to have Pete Tong on our sands next year,” said Tracey Griffiths, Owner of Lusty Glaze. “He’s a true pioneer, someone who has shaped the soundtrack of club culture around the world.”
Tracey continues: “Pete has played everywhere from Ibiza to LA to London’s O2 Arena, and bringing that legacy and musical craft to our Sundowner Sessions makes this one of the standout dates of the summer.”
For generations of electronic music lovers, Pete Tong has been the defining voice of the scene, BBC Radio 1 icon, Ibiza Classics creator, global festival headliner, curator, mentor and tastemaker. From founding the legendary Essential Mix to reimagining dance anthems with live orchestras, Pete Tong’s influence has shaped dance culture for over three decades.
This special Lusty Glaze performance sees him bring his trademark sound to one of the UK’s most spectacular open-air venues. For this event, the beach will feature a 360° stage set-up, placing Pete Tong at the centre of the crowd and creating an immersive dancefloor experience unlike anything previously hosted at Lusty Glaze. Expect classic house, contemporary electronica and club culture history all woven into an atmospheric beach party setting, complete with sand underfoot and the Atlantic as the backdrop.
Part of Lusty Glaze’s much-loved Sundowner Sessions, the event will run from 3pm – late, with support acts and local favourites to be announced. Guests can expect a night of dancing barefoot in the sand, surrounding the 360° stage as the sun goes down and some of the most influential tracks in dance history echo around the cove.
Whether you’ve followed Pete Tong since the Essential Mix era or are discovering his legacy for the first time, this promises to be one of the biggest events in the Cornish summer calendar.
