WATER UPDATES: Last updated 13/01/2026 09:04

Helston Water Update - 13/01/2026 17:00 via South West Water:

e’re very pleased to confirm that water supplies should now be restored to customers in Helston and the surrounding areas.

You may notice some discolouration, this is normally short lived and should clear after running your cold kitchen tap for an hour. Sometimes it may take longer to clear but it shouldn’t last beyond 24 hours and the water is fine to drink.  You can find more information here Discoloured water | Report a problem | South West Water.

As always, unexpected challenges can arise, but if anything changes, we’ll update you here, on our social channels and through the local news.

We would again like to extend a thank you to our customers and communities who have continued to show kindness and support for our teams today.

Bottled Water - we are keeping our bottled water stations open while we confirm there are no further issues:

  • Old Flambards Car Park, Helston – Open 24 hours
  • Mullion School, Meaver Road, Mullion – 7am–10pm
  • Folly Field Car Park, Marazion – 7am–10pm

You can also recycle your bottles at all our water stations, there’s a dedicated lane at Flambards to help with this.

Our Customer Services team are also at Flambards until 7pm this evening to answer any questions you may have.

We’re also still delivering bottled water to our most vulnerable customers.

While Storm Goretti was beyond anyone’s control, our Customer Promise applies:

  • £50 for the first 12 hours without water
  • £50 for every additional 12-hour period

You don’t need to do anything, credits will be applied automatically and shown on your next bill, and we will be writing to eligible customers over the coming days.

For more information, please visit our Customer Promise.

NHS UPDATES:  Last updated 13/01/2026 09:04

After the weekend some GP practices and NHS services may still be impacted following the storm.
Here’s how to stay updated if you need NHS services:

  • Check your GP surgery’s Facebook page, as many are sharing regular updates via social media. You should be able to call by phone if you feel it is absolutely necessary - but please keep phone lines free if it isn’t urgent.
  • We will provide regular and further updates on our Facebook page
  • If you have an NHS appointment this week: Where possible, patients will be contacted if appointments need to be cancelled or rearranged.
  • If you no longer need your appointment please contact the service in the usual way to cancel - as this will free up appointments no longer needed.
  • The NHS is still here for you if you need us:
  • Your local pharmacy: for advice and treatment for many common conditions: Find a Pharmacy
  • NHS 111: use 111 online https://111.nhs.uk or call 111 for urgent health advice and to be directed to the most appropriate service
  • Nearby Minor Injury Units: for urgent but non-life-threatening injuries; please check opening times before travelling - Waiting Times for Urgent Care
  • 999: always call in a life- or limb-threatening emergency

Some services may be running late, with staff impacted by travel disruption or power outage - thank you for your patience during this time.
