A brief history: Modern Music was opened in 1982 by Andy Pascoe and Arthur Lloyd. Starting with a shoe-string budget, it was a far cry then from the fully stocked shop of today.

In 1985 Andy became a sole trader and soon the Drum Department began to take off, showing encouraging signs of growth. Since then Modern Music has gone from strength to strength taking on board more and more agencies over the years.

2001 was the start of an exciting new venture, the sourcing and importing of Vintage and Rare guitars. This grew into an established part of the business. Andy is in contact with vintage guitar dealers in America which enables him to pursue any Vintage and Rare guitar enquiries.

In 2014, Andy’s son Aaron became a Junior Partner in Modern Music. The new partnership heralded the next stage in Modern Music’s history, allowing the business to expand and evolve in new diverse ways.
