Area Manager
Cormac are currently recruiting a new Highways Area Manager within our Term Service Business.
This role will be based in one of our local operational depots and will be responsible for the safe and efficient delivery of highway maintenance activities and minor civil engineering schemes within a defined geographical area.
This is a fast paced and varied role which requires a range of skills and attributes. You will need wide industry experience and a proven track record in the delivery of an operational service, people and leadership skills and the ability to communicate professionally with clients, stakeholders, members of the public and colleagues within the wider Cormac and Corserv business.
The role is accountable for ensuring that all work is delivered safely, efficiently and within agreed programmes, while achieving commercial objectives.
The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues to deliver a range of functions including:
- Routine highway maintenance such as gully emptying
- Highway projects and schemes such as drainage, footway and minor civil engineering
- Reactive safety defects
- Highway improvement and safety schemes
- Minor surfacing / surface treatment schemes
- Emergency and incident response including winter maintenance

About you
- You will have a background in, and significant experience of, highway maintenance, construction and / or environmental schemes
- You will have a track record of working as part of a varied team, providing a solution-based approach to tasks and problems.
- You will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and able to prioritise the demands of such a working environment

Salary: £42,035 - £53,256

Contract Type: Permanent
Base: St Columb Depot / Tregongeeves Depot, St Austell
