About the Role
Cormac are seeking a skilled Fleet Compliance Officer to help ensure our vehicles, drivers, and operations meet all safety and regulatory requirements under the Cornwall Council Operator’s Licence.
Working within the Compliance Team, you’ll support the Director of Fleet (Transport Manager) by monitoring and improving compliance across our fleet, providing guidance to operational teams, and ensuring our obligations as a licence holder are maintained. You’ll play a key role in audits, investigations, data reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives to keep our fleet and the public safe.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and document fleet and equipment compliance checks across the region.
- Support investigations into incidents, MOT failures, and maintenance issues.
- Manage Road Fund Licence renewals and ensure records are up to date.
- Collate and analyse driver and vehicle data, producing reports for management and committees.
- Deliver training and guidance to teams on compliance and operator licence responsibilities.
- Maintain and update fleet systems (e.g. Tranman, Masternaut, Entropy).
- Support internal and external audits and contribute to compliance improvements.

About You
You’ll be organised, analytical, and confident interpreting legislation and compliance requirements. You’ll work well independently and collaboratively, with strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Essential:
- SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent experience) in Business & Administration or related field
- IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence (Category B)
- Knowledge of road transport and Health & Safety legislation
- Strong IT and data analysis skills (Microsoft Office)
Desirable:
- Certificate of Professional Competence (Road Haulage) or working towards
- Category C licence and Driver Qualification Card
- Experience with asset/performance management software (e.g. Tranman, Power BI)

Salary: £26,790 - £36,647
Working Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Base: Hybrid working from home and office
