A landrover has flipped onto its side on the A39 near Winnards Perch.
The accident happened shortly after 12 blocking the carriageway in both directions.
Fire and ambulance crews are on the scene trying to release a woman that became trapped.
It comes on a day that traders are packing down after a busy Royal Cornwall Show.
The road is likely to be closed for sometime.
