More about our Sponsor...
With a history stretching over 35 years, Pendennis Shipyard is one of the world’s leading superyacht refit, restoration and custom build facilities renowned for its diverse sailing and motor yacht projects.
Based in a 14-acre waterfront location in the thriving maritime town of Falmouth, Pendennis employs over 500 highly skilled tradespeople and support staff, from CAD teams to exterior outfitters, joiners, electricians, engineers, fabricators and specialist painters.
Pendennis has seen its people-focused ethos rewarded with over 20 awards since its foundation in 1988.
Their award-winning apprenticeship scheme has been running since 1998 and continues to build the new generation of highly skilled, specialised superyacht staff.
The programme prides itself with a 90% retention rate following graduation, with many ex-apprentices progressing to senior management positions within the company.
The company has built over 30 bespoke projects and conducted refit works on a further 350 vessels.
Notable projects have included award-winning refits A2 and Aquila, major restorations of classic yachts Marala, Malahne and Haida 1929, and new builds such as Halekai, Hemisphere, Christopher and Vijonara.
On site in Falmouth, three purpose-built construction halls and a flexible 150m undercover dry dock are supported by purpose-built modern workshops and offices.
An enclosed non-tidal wet basin can accommodate yachts up to 100m LOA, designed to provide direct deep water seaward access to the yard for haul-out, and facilitating short refit works.
In 2019, the company opened the Pendennis Vilanova Technical Service Centre near Barcelona. Adjacent to the existing first-class superyacht marina, Vilanova Grand Marina, the facility focuses on small to medium size refit projects and brings Pendennis expertise to the heart of the Mediterranean.
Pendennis is very proud of its award-winning apprenticeship scheme, which has trained over 300 young men and women in boat industry jobs over the past 25 years.
Through these apprenticeships, we’re able to continually develop our workforce, maintaining the world-class standards that we uphold across every custom build or refit.
