Families visiting Castle Beach in Falmouth can now borrow free plastic beach toys to keep children entertained.
Thanks to a new beach toy library launched by Plastic Free Falmouth in partnership with Falmouth Town Council, The Castle Beach Toy Library, located at the bottom of the walkway beside Castle Beach Café, is completely free to use.
It’s designed for families who may have forgotten a bucket and spade or who prefer not to buy new plastic toys for a day at the seaside.
Visitors are welcome to borrow any of the toys but are asked to return them after use so others can enjoy them.
To help the scheme grow, the council and Plastic Free Falmouth are also appealing for donations of clean, usable beach toys.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Town Council said: “If you have any clean, usable beach toys that you no longer need, we’d love to give them a new home. Beach toy donations are welcome and will help more families enjoy the beach while reducing plastic waste and protecting our wildlife.”
The council also thanked Emily from Castle Beach Café, who has agreed to bring the toy library indoors each evening to keep it safe and ready for families to enjoy the next day.
