Healthwatch Cornwall is proud to announce the launch of a new Mental Health Partnership Board this October.
As an independent and impartial organisation, Healthwatch Cornwall believes good experiences of Mental Health care and support are paramount to living a better, more fulfilling and happier life. We are launching a new Mental Health Partnership Board to bring together voices from across Cornwall and help shape the future of mental health services.
The aim and purpose of the Mental Health Partnership Board is to enable people in Cornwall who use Social Care, Support Services, GP practices, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Hospitals or any other health and social care referral pathways to work collaboratively with key decision-makers to influence and shape service design and delivery.
This is a chance for people with lived mental health experiences to make a real difference by joining together to share insights and experiences.
Who will be involved? The Board will be made up of individuals with lived experiences alongside key decision-makers from Cornwall Council, the NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Integrated Care Board, Public Health and Mental Health Support services.
Cornwall Council cabinet lead for adult social care and health Andy Virr said: “The new Mental Health Partnership Board will ensure that the voice of people who use services is at the heart of designing solutions and identifying improved ways of providing support and care for the residents of Cornwall.
“The voices of the board will join those of the other partnership boards, as well as our own co-production group to make sure the council’s services reflect the need of the people who use them.”
Why should you get involved? This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference and influence positive, lasting change in how mental health care is delivered across Cornwall. By sharing your experiences and thoughts on what’s working and what needs to change, you can contribute to meaningful recommendations that will help drive improvements in how mental health care is delivered in our community.
