The recent news from Bauer about networking breakfast shows across heritage FM stations in England and Wales is a stark reminder of the challenges facing local radio.
This shift means that many cherished local voices and dedicated teams may soon be silenced, and jobs that have supported communities for years are at risk. Our hearts go out to everyone who is facing this uncertainty—the talented presenters, the committed teams, and the loyal listeners who have grown up with these voices.
At Cornwall’s Rewind Radio, we stand as the last remaining commercial station dedicated solely to Cornwall. This isn’t just a title—it’s a profound responsibility and a commitment to our community. We’ve worked tirelessly to create a station that celebrates Cornwall’s rich heritage and vibrant culture, and we are determined to continue doing so.
Here’s what sets us apart:
• Local to the Core: Our presenters aren’t just voices on air—they’re community members who understand and care about the issues that matter most in Cornwall.
• Musical Diversity: From timeless classics to today’s hits, our music reflects the eclectic tastes of our listeners and the unique spirit of our county.
• Community Focus: We’re dedicated to covering local events, issues, and stories, ensuring that every broadcast is a true reflection of Cornwall’s soul.
• Job Preservation: In a time when local jobs are threatened, we are committed to sustaining employment and supporting the local economy, keeping the heart of Cornwall beating strong.
Now, more than ever, it’s vital to support truly local radio. If you value authentic, community-driven content, please tune in to Cornwall’s Rewind Radio on DAB, online, or through our app. Local businesses need to consider radio as part of their marketing mix, this is the only source of revenue for local radio. Let’s stand together to preserve the unique voice of Cornwall and ensure that our community remains heard.
Join us in keeping Cornwall’s spirit alive—because local radio isn’t just about music and news, it’s about community, identity, and hope.
