St Ives Rugby Club say a Crucial Thank You

A sports club at the heart of the St Ives community thanked businesses and volunteers for their crucial support at the weekend.

St Ives RFC invited businesses sponsors and people that volunteer their time to help run the rugby club to a special “thank you day” on Saturday 18th April, for drinks and lunch, before enjoying the first team’s final home game of an exciting season.

The event was extremely well attended, with guests enjoying the hospitality followed by the match, as the “Hakes” took the win against Truro.

Russell Baragwanath, St Ives RFC Chair said:

“St Ives Rugby Club is extremely grateful to all of the businesses and volunteers that support the club. St Ives RFC  is very much at the heart of the community and it was wonderful to invite everyone that supports us into the club to thank them properly. With over 40 sponsors currently supporting St Ives RFC, it was wonderful to see so many at the clubhouse this Saturday, along with volunteers that have supported us over the years.”

Many of the business partners were in attendance to enjoy the special occasion, confirming how pleased they have been with their sponsorship and their plans to renew for next season.

This season has seen 42 businesses partner with the club in a range of ways – from funds raised via advertising boards and kit sponsorship, through to services donated as gifts in kind.

Not only has this helped the club financially at a vital time when significant developments are underway at the grounds, but it has also brought more visitors to enjoy matches and add to the atmosphere.

Russell continued:

“Inviting our sponsors to a special lunch is a small way that we can show our appreciation and we would like to extend our thanks to each and every one of our business partners who help to keep our club running: A1 Cars; Anned LTD; Aspects Holidays; Ayr Holiday Park; Bale & Twine; Blue Fin Charters; Bradfords Building Suppliers; Carbis Bay Holidays; Chilli Jam Vans; Cornish Bakehouse; Cornish Riviera Holidays; Cornish Seal Sanctuary; Cottage Boutique; Cross Estates; Crusty Juggler; CVC Solicitors; D A Giles; Douglas Cawley and Associates; Elite Wealth Management; Eventy – Marketing & Sponsorship; Florida Travel Comp; Greenmount Carpets; Impact Printing Services; Murt & Navin Electrical; P.A. Webster Home Improvements; Parkway Timber; PhysioWest; Polmanter Touring Park; Porthgwidden Beach Café; Quarterdeck; Saints Funerals; Sanders Fish & Chips Restaurant; Smith Window Cleaning Services; Southwest Laundry; St Ives Brewery; St Ives Buses & MOT Test Centre; St.Ives Boats; St.Ives Foot Care; St.Ives Self Storage; Tan & Dowr; Three Ferrets; and WJ  Winn Funeral Directors”.

It is an exciting time for St Ives RFC, with major developments underway to improve the grounds and clubhouse, supporting players and providing better facilities for those who visit.

The club is grateful to have key support from businesses throughout St Ives and further afield – St Austell and Truro to Penzance and Gweek, as well as businesses that operate throughout the county and beyond.

St Ives has a history of over 140 years of rugby, and the club has played an important role in the town – seeing players reach their potential, youth coming up through the club, families enjoying the social connections and the clubhouse hosting events from christenings to weddings.

With partnership opportunities for all business’s budgets, marketing benefits include features on the club’s website; social media interaction; branding within the grounds, clubhouse, and on kit; acknowledgements in programmes; member communication; match day hospitality; and use of the clubhouse… to mention just a few!
