A Celebration of the Food, Culture & Community of Newquay Harbour

Join us for the return of the Newquay Harbour Festival on Saturday the 7th of September from 10am to 9pm to celebrate the FOOD, CULTURE & COMMUNITY of our Harbour. The Boathouse, Newquay BID, Cornwall Shop Small and Newquay Farmers Market have come together to host a day full of family fun, live music, delicious food, chef’s demos, local makes and unique experiences and we’re excited to announce the full what’s on!

 

WHAT'S ON:

Visit the HARBOUR MARKET OF CORNISH PRODUCE & MAKES as part of the BIG Newquay Market at the Harbour, Bank Street and the Killacourt from 10am - 4pm

BEACH ART 'Pages of the Sea' Flag Installation created and designed by City of Lights sponsored by Experience Newquay and the BE NEWQUAY Festival on the beach from 10am - 5pm

Take part in a ROCKPOOL RAMBLE with the exciting MR FT to explore the Harbour and find out more about our thriving eco system from the beach at 10am

Join the SHARPS BEACH CLEAN from 10am - 12pm to do your bit for our beautiful harbour and beach. Adults who participate will be rewarded with a free pint of Atlantic Beer from Sharps

Make a withy fish in this FREE FAMILY WORKSHOP with City of Lights artists supported by Experience Newquay and Cornwall Nourish Hub at the Harbour from 10am - 4pm

Come and learn more about the life of the mighty lobster with PADSTOW LOBSTER HATCHERY and watch a live lobster release, time TBC

***LIVE MUSIC*** from midday through to 9pm

Kicking off with a lively performance from The Clams, followed by an array of fantastic live music acts from:

Tom Cary Will Powell Newquay Rowing Club Singers Harbour Rats Shanty Band Charlie Wolf Jazz Trio Plus more TBC

***COOKING DEMOS & CULINARY DELIGHTS*** in the Rattler Marquee from 1pm featuring talented Cornish-based chefs showcasing their culinary skills, including:

Guy Owen (Great British Menu) Gavin Edney (Headland Hotel) Adam Banks, SHIO – Asian Street Food 6pm: Experience a unique Gin Flavouring Workshop with Tarquin's Gin and Navas Drinks 7:30pm - 9pm: Unwind with a Free Wine Tasting session - perfect for wine enthusiasts!

PLUS an array of STREETFOOD, SEAFOOD & SHARPS Bar

Sarah Curley of Cornwall Shop Small comments, ‘It’s wonderful that our monthly BIG Newquay Market coincides with the return of the Newquay Harbour Festival. As usual we’ll have stalls on the Killacourt, along Bank Street and for this month only we’ll be extending the Market down to the Harbour making it our biggest BIG Newquay Market day yet.’ Caroline of Newquay Farmers Market adds, ‘we’ve curated a line up that celebrates our community and showcases some of the best local makers and producers inspired by our amazing town and coast’.

Mark from Newquay BID says ‘we are really excited to be working with all the partners to deliver another amazing Newquay Harbour Festival again this year, this is a family focused event in conjunction with our BIG Newquay market running through the town alongside the Summer Finale happening on the Killacourt, truly a fantastic day instore for the whole community.’
