Theatre Royal Plymouth (TRP) has unveiled the children’s ensemble for this year’s pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which runs from 13 December – 11 January.
From over 60 young people who auditioned, 16 were chosen and will appear in groups of eight that will alternate across the run, alongside Birds of a Feather’s Lesley Joseph as The Wicked Queen, broadcaster and barrister Rob Rinder as The Man In The Mirror, The Artist star Briana Craig as Snow White, South West comedian Andy Ford as Muddles and West End stars Samuel Holmes and Scott Maurice as The Governess and The Prince.
Ryan Wilce, Producer at Theatre Royal Plymouth said: “This is an amazing opportunity for young people in Plymouth to get to perform on our largest stage and work with some of the industries most talented people on and off the stage! There aren’t many theatres in the UK that still have a children’s ensemble in their panto, so we’re thrilled to be able to provide this opportunity.”
Avia, aged 10, from the children’s ensemble, said: “I am excited about being in the pantomime because I believe it is a really special opportunity, especially since I want to be an actor. I know it will be really fun performing at Theatre Royal Plymouth.”
Daisy, another member of the ensemble, aged 10, said: “I am so excited about everything, but mostly about performing on the stage. I am so grateful that I have made it this far, and that I am in the pantomime at Theatre Royal Plymouth.”
