Using beavers as the inspiration for this project, discover how we, as humans, can use techniques used by these natural engineers and raise our aspirations with green careers and water conservation.

Monday 07 July, 10am - 3pm at The Grower Ltd near St. Agnes

Please note, this session is for people aged 16 and over only. There will be no real - life beavers involved in this activity.

A pasty lunch and refreshments will be provided as part of the activity

What Are Leaky (Trickle) Dams?
Leaky dams are a type of Natural Flood Management (NFM), where logs or branches are used to slow down floodwaters, allowing normal water flow while reducing the speed of peak flows. These barriers help trap sediment, restore habitats, and improve water quality. The materials used are natural and sustainable, ensuring minimal impact on the environment.

Sustainability and Health Impact:
In addition to the environmental benefits, participants will experience the health and wellbeing advantages of working in nature. Research has shown that engaging in outdoor activities can improve mood, reduce stress, increase physical activity, and foster a sense of community.
