Inspiring Women Network Hosts third Women in Leadership and Entrepreneurship Conference
PRESS RELEASE:
The Inspiring Women Network (IWN) is proud to announce its Women in Leadership and Entrepreneurship Conference, sponsored by Imerys and the University of Exeter, which will take place on Saturday, 27th September 2025 at the University of Exeter’s Penryn Campus.
This year’s theme “Power in our stories, strength in our vision” explores how women are redefining leadership, challenging systemic barriers, and building futures rooted in justice, compassion and community. The conference aims to connect, inspire, and empower women from all backgrounds, with a focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, and personal development. Featuring an inspiring line-up of speakers and workshops, this day-long event is designed to offer women tools, knowledge, and confidence to lead with impact and in their fields.
Keynote speaker Sharon De Leonardis, founder of SpectaculArts CIC and Eyes See You, will deliver an inspiring address on “Finding Your Authentic Voice: Intention and Integrity is Key.” Sharon will share her personal journey through activism, and how embracing her voice through artistic practices—painting, poetry, performance, and writing—has shaped her powerful work in community leadership and social justice. Her talk will explore the role of authenticity in sustaining meaningful activism and driving change, encouraging attendees to connect deeply with their own purpose.
Also joining as a keynote speaker is Anne Cooper, trailblazing entrepreneur and founder of Cornwall’s first skin clinic by a woman of colour. In her keynote, “Power, Passion and Persistence: A Woman’s Journey Through Adversity to Impact”, Anne shares her deeply personal story of overcoming racism, navigating identity, and rebuilding her life after domestic violence and financial abuse. From a successful legal career to revolutionising the beauty and aesthetics industry, Anne is committed to empowering the next generation of clinicians and ensuring inclusive, high-standard care for people of colour.
In addition to these powerful keynotes, the conference will offer 6 workshops led by dynamic women from a wide range of industries. Topics will include personal growth, financial empowerment, leadership development, entrepreneurship, mental health, and more. This day-long event is a celebration of women’s achievements across all backgrounds, while also acknowledging and addressing the barriers many still face in their personal and professional lives. The variety of voices and experiences shared throughout the day ensures there is something meaningful for everyone, wherever they are in their journey.
Attendees will also benefit from networking opportunities with women leaders, entrepreneurs, and change-makers as well as a range of stalls featuring local entrepreneurs, vendors, and community organisations.
