A total of £775 was handed over to Senior Station Technician and Deputy Coxswain Jon Blakeston) by rally organisers Emma and Jason Goss and long-standing RNLI fundraiser Mick French during a visit to Falmouth Lifeboat Station recently.

The rally was held at Stithians Showground over the Easter weekend this year and was the first event organised by Emma and Jason and their JEMS Vintage Rallies Cornwall charity organisation. The rally included vintage vehicles, food stalls, trade stalls, a craft barn, a children’s fun zone and an Easter egg hunt.

Emma said: ‘The rallies we organise are not for profit events and are a good family fun day out. We donate the proceeds from the rally fees to a number of local charities and encourage stall holders to raise money as well.’

JEMS Vintage Rallies donated £500 and Mick French, who had a number of models from his lifeboat collection on display at the rally, raised £168 with another £107 being raised by Les Coddington, who makes and displays replicas of old fair games.

During their visit, Emma, Jason and Mick were shown around the station by Jon Blakeston which included going on board the Station’s brand-new Shannon class all-weather lifeboat Decibel Too.
