Newquay Town Council wishes to advise that the Easter Egg‑stravaganza, originally planned for Saturday 4th April, has been rescheduled to Sunday 5th April 2026 due to adverse weather forecasts. The event will still take place on the Killacourt from 10am to 4pm, and all activities remain in place. We are simply moving the fun to the following day!
The full programme of free activities remains unchanged. Families can look forward to an Easter Egg Hunt (with every child receiving a chocolate egg or an alternative), Easter themed storytelling sessions with Hotch Potch Performance, face painting, mini fairground rides, an Easter Trail with a prize at the end, and a children’s disco from the Bandstand.
The BIG Newquay Market, hosted by Cornwall Shop Small in collaboration with
Newquay BID will also move to Sunday to be hosted alongside the event on the Killacourt from 10am, offering a wonderful range of stalls showcasing local food and artisan makers
Please note that the two free Easter town trails, the Easter Trail and the Golden Rocks Hunt, are unaffected by this change and will run as planned from Tuesday 7th April, until Saturday 18th April. Trail sheets are available from Newquay Library and Information Service (please note the library is closed on Sundays).
Mayor of Newquay, Councillor Drew Creek, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this change may cause, but the safety and comfort of our families and visitors is always our priority. We are very much looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Killacourt on Sunday 5th April. It is going to be a fantastic day and well worth the wait!”
