The Newquay Hornets Under-14 rugby team is inviting the community to take part in a vibrant and family-friendly Hornets Colour Run on Sunday 17th May from 10:00am at Newquay Sports Centre.
Organised by the club’s Under 14 team and supported by volunteers, the event aims to raise funds to help improve the Newquay Sports Centre grounds, making the facilities more accessible and usable for the community throughout the year.
Following an exceptionally wet season, areas of the grounds have become difficult to use. Funds raised through the Colour Run will go towards improvements that will benefit not only the rugby club but the wider community who use the facilities.
The Hornets Colour Run promises to be one of the most colourful and entertaining community events of the year. Participants of all ages and abilities are invited to run, jog or walk the 2.5km course, which features eight vibrant paint stations where runners will be showered with safe, colourful powder paint.
The day will begin with a lively group warm-up session, before participants set off on the course. Along the way, runners can enjoy a few fun obstacles and even cool off on an exciting slip-and-slide, adding to the festival-style atmosphere.
Entertainment throughout the event will be provided by Radio Newquay, with music helping to keep the energy high from start to finish. Visitors can also enjoy food and beverage stalls, browse official Hornets Colour Run merchandise, pick up novelty items, and take part in a raffle with prizes.
The event is designed to bring the community together for a day of fun, fitness and colour, while supporting a local club that is run entirely by volunteers.
Organisers are encouraging participants to wear white on the day, as by the end of the course they’ll be transformed into a moving canvas of bright colour.
