Months after a fire tore through the cliffside at North Cliffs, scorching large sections of vegetation, signs of new growth are already emerging.
In August, we shared photos showing the devastation left behind, with the National Trust urging walkers to “stay clear of the torched area” due to the risk of further flare‑ups.
The fire, which broke out in the early hours of August 3, was tackled by crews from Tolvaddon Community Fire Station. Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said that at around 2.50am, firefighters were using hose reels and beaters to bring the flames under control along the steep cliff edge. At least three fire engines were sent to the scene.
Now, in photos taken by Sunday presenter Rob Jackson, fresh shoots and patches of greenery can be seen returning to the site — just a month after the blaze.
