A new work skills hub offering practical support for Cornwall’s hospitality businesses will launch in 2027.
The Expowest Cornwall trade show has announced the Cornwall Hospitality Workforce Skills Hub, a dedicated feature connecting hospitality businesses with organisations specialising in skills, training, apprenticeships, recruitment and workforce development.
Delivered in partnership with FSB Cornwall, which led the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) for Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, the Hub brings together organisations working across careers, education and workforce support to help businesses attract, develop and retain staff.
Located in a dedicated area at Expowest Cornwall, the Hub will act as a focal point where trade visitors can meet providers offering training pathways, apprenticeship programmes and recruitment guidance.
Mike Anderson, Managing Director of Hale Events, said: “Expowest Cornwall has always been about helping hospitality businesses discover new products, suppliers and opportunities. The Cornwall Hospitality Workforce Skills Hub adds another important dimension by focusing on one of the industry’s biggest challenges: people.”
He added that bringing together organisations involved in training, apprenticeships and workforce development will offer “genuine value for visitors and exhibitors alike”.

Our research for the LSIP confirmed that finding the right staff is just as fundamental to success as having great suppliers. This is why we’ve partnered with the show to highlight careers, pathways and opportunities across the food supply, catering and hospitality sector.”
The Hub will feature organisations involved in:
- Hospitality skills and training
- Apprenticeships
- Careers and education
- Workforce development
- Recruitment support
- Employer engagement
- Key partner organisations are currently being invited to take part.
Trade visitors will be able to explore training opportunities, meet workforce support organisations and discover the resources available to help hospitality businesses across Cornwall.
