This Saturday 2nd August, the waterfront at Cattewater, Barbican will host the highly anticipated Summer Sports Fest, an all-day celebration of strength, endurance, and community — organised by local not-for-profit Tugboats & Dolphins CIC.
Running from 08:00 to 22:00, the event is free to attend and promises something for everyone. At the heart of the day is the Summer Swim Challenge, a 100-mile open-water team swim, where participants take turns conquering the distance to raise vital funds for Age UK.
Also featured on the day:
The Southwest Strongman Competition, showcasing some of the region’s most powerful athletes
Live music and DJs performing from morning to night
A vibrant selection of local food and drink stalls
A full programme of games, inflatables, and family-friendly entertainment
Jordan Kelevra, manager at Tugboats & Dolphins, says:
"We created this event to prove that physical challenge can bring people together and make a real difference. Whether you're swimming, spectating, or just there for the music and food, you're helping support older people across Devon and Cornwall through Age UK."
