As Cornwall Hospice Care marks its 45th year of providing expert, compassionate care, we are reminded that this journey has always been powered by the unwavering support of local communities. From individuals giving their time and donations, to families hosting fundraising events, and businesses going the extra mile—every act of kindness has made a difference.
One shining example of this generosity is Trevaskis Farm, which is proudly celebrating over four decades of supporting adult hospice care in Cornwall. Trevaskis Farm has raised funds in a unique way through its much-loved “Sin Bin”—a donation box inviting Pick Your Own customers to pay for any fruit they eat while picking. Over the years they have raised over £40,000.
Serena Eustice, Director of Trevaskis Farm, reflects on the longstanding connection with Cornwall Hospice Care: “We are proud to have supported Cornwall Hospice Care for so many years inviting our Pick Your Own customers to pay for the fruit they have eaten via the “Sin Bin” invented by our father over 40 years ago. The incredible work of this charity is close to our hearts. We lost Dad in 2016 to cancer and we know St Julia’s Hospice has touched the lives of so many of our customers too. We look forward to raising as much as possible in the years to come to support this much needed end of life care.”
Over the years, the contributions from Trevaskis Farm and its shoppers have helped provide vital services and compassionate care to those with terminal illnesses. The farm’s relationship with Cornwall Hospice Care has not only raised funds but also heightened awareness about the essential work of local hospices.
Erica Vitai, Relationships Partner at Cornwall Hospice Care, shared her thanks: “We cannot thank the team at Trevaskis Farm enough for their incredible, long-standing support and we’re excited to work with them for many years in the future. We love the farm’s out of the box thinking to raise much needed funds for our hospices, and that it has stood the test of time.”
As Trevaskis Farm celebrates this milestone of support, it remains committed to Cornwall Hospice Care— helping to ensure that generations to come continue to benefit from the expert, compassionate care provided at both St Julia’s and Mount Edgcumbe Hospices. They have a bumper crop of delicious fruit and vegetables ready to pick right now, so you can visit to pick your own and if your peckish, support a Cornish charity along the way.
