A Cornwall based non-profit is calling on local people to volunteer as demand for its services continues to grow.
Gunners Kids CIC, which supports families affected by the terminal illness of a parent or carer, is seeking volunteers across Cornwall to help meet the needs of its expanding client base. The organisation, which has been operating for just over a year, has experienced significant growth and is now looking for additional support to continue delivering its vital services.
Gunners Kids CIC provides a wide range of support for families, including activity days, workshops, information sessions, drop-in sessions and one-to-one support. Volunteers are needed both to work directly with families and behind the scenes, helping with event organisation, administration and fundraising.
Full training will be provided for all volunteer roles, and all volunteers will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Volunteer opportunities are available in all areas of Cornwall. Anyone interested in volunteering is encouraged to complete an expression of interest form here.
Alternatively, prospective volunteers can find out more by attending one of the upcoming volunteer information sessions:
-
St Austell Library: 16th January and 20th February, 10am–12pm
-
Launceston Health Hub: 14th January and 11th February, 10am–12pm
No prior experience is required, just a willingness to help support families during some of the most challenging times of their lives.
