Crowded House kick off this year’s Eden Sessions with memorable performance

Legendary act Crowded House opened this year’s Eden Sessions season last night – Wednesday, June 12

Forming in Melbourne, Australia, in 1985, Crowded House have sold 15 million albums worldwide, with four number one albums in Australia, earning them 13 ARIA Awards, an MTV Video Music Award and a BRIT Award.

The band’s self-titled debut album was released in 1986 to huge acclaim, achieving platinum status in four countries. It included the massive hits Don’t Dream It’s Over and Something So Strong. The former became an international hit, reaching number one in New Zealand and Canada, and number two on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Their latest album, Dreamers Are Waiting, was released in 2021, marking the first full album release in 11 years and scooping an ARIA Award for Best Adult Contemporary Album.

Joining Crowded House as their special guest will be Liam Finn. The son of Neil Finn, Liam has always followed his own path. From the adolescent guitar fireworks of his band Betchadupa, to his incendiary one-man performances (including spots on The Late Show with David Letterman and Later… With Jools Holland), he’s found ways to challenge and disrupt what you might expect from a singer-songwriter.

His latest project Hyperverse finds him once again charting new territory,

including fans in the writing and recording process in unprecedented ways, with even more ambitious plans to close the gap between artist and audience down the line.

The Australasian rock icons performed their decades-spanning hits in front of a packed audience.

Joining Crowded House as their special guest was Liam Finn.
