People living with COPD or asthma can now access free, NHS‑endorsed digital support to help manage their condition.
The myCOPD and myAsthma apps are available at no cost for residents across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly until the end of May 2026. The provision of these apps in Cornwall are in line with the NHS 10 Year Plan commitment to provide more digital support to people to help them manage their health.
They provide clinically proven tools to help people better understand and manage their symptoms from home if they have been diagnosed with COPD or Asthma and are registered with a GP in Cornwall.
Chris Reid, chief medical officer, NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly, said: "Living with a long‑term respiratory condition can be challenging, but the right support can make a real difference to people and help them to take control of their health.
“By offering free access to the myCOPD and myAsthma apps, we are giving people across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly new tools and advice so they can feel more confident in managing their symptoms day to day. These clinically proven digital resources empower individuals to understand their condition, monitor changes, and take timely action, often from the comfort of home. We are pleased to make this support available and encourage anyone living with COPD or asthma to take up this opportunity and download the apps."
Rachel Williams consultant respiratory practitioner at Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust said: “myCOPD and myAsthma offer residents a convenient, clinically proven way to manage their symptoms from home. These tools empower people to take control of their health while keeping them connected to trusted NHS guidance. We’re pleased to offer this free access until the end of March and encourage anyone living with COPD or asthma to register as soon as possible.”

The digital support package forms part of wider work that has taken place over the winter period to support local people with respiratory conditions. NHS Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly are one of only 10 sites nationally to receive funding through the NHS England Pathway Transformation Fund, that nationally provided £2.61 million investment designed to accelerate improvements in asthma and COPD care across England.
Support for local people over winter has also included access to respiratory clinical champions, strengthened community engagement through VCSE partners, targeted wellbeing support, tobacco dependency treatment, and expanded use of digital tools to help people manage their own lung health.

The platforms are supported by a strong body of clinical evidence, with multiple evaluations published by NICE.
