The Camborne Show is gearing up for what organisers say will be its biggest and best event yet, with record entries, packed trade stands and an exceptional turnout of heavy horses expected.

Taking place on Saturday, July 18, this year marks the second time the long‑running agricultural show will be held at Gear Farm, just outside Camborne - a move that chairman Reg Bennett says has allowed the event to flourish.

“Our attendance figures were around 4,000 in 2025 and, if the weather is kind, I expect that to increase,” he said.

“We moved from our previous site so the show could grow and that’s certainly happening at Gear.”

A landmark year for livestock and heavy horses

Organisers say the 2026 show is set to feature:

  • Record livestock entries
  • The largest number of heavy horses taking part in any Cornish show this year
  • Fully booked trade stands showcasing local businesses, crafts and rural services

The scale of entries reflects the show’s growing reputation as one of Cornwall’s most vibrant community agricultural events.

Easy access for visitors

To help manage the expected crowds, a range of transport options will be in place:

  • Park and ride from Camborne Rugby Club
  • Free shuttle buses from Morrisons in Pool and Troon Square
  • A 15‑minute walk from Camborne Library
  • Free car and cycle parking at the showground

“Camborne Show is all about bringing the countryside to town and getting our community together,” Reg added.

“There’s a lot of agricultural land in Camborne parish, and this event celebrates that heritage.”

A tradition dating back to 1942

The first Camborne Show was held in 1942, founded by the Holman family as a fundraiser for the Red Cross. More than eight decades later, it remains a cornerstone of the town’s cultural identity.

“The event has become part of our history and heritage, and BID Camborne is delighted to support it,” said Anna Pascoe, BID Camborne manager.

Plenty to see and do

Visitors can enjoy a full day of entertainment, including:

  • Craft and domestic tents
  • Vintage vehicle rally
  • Horticultural displays
  • Horse and dog shows

“A really fun day out for the whole family that I can’t recommend enough,” Anna added.
