Newquay Town Council is pleased to announce the return of the Newquay Sessions for Summer 2026, a programme of five free events taking place on the Killacourt throughout July and August.
Designed to offer something for all ages, the Newquay Sessions will bring a diverse range of music, entertainment and family-friendly activities to the heart of the town. Delivered entirely free of charge, the series reflects the town council’s ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality events for both residents and visitors.
Steve Facer, Director of Resources at Newquay Town Council, commented: “These events have been curated so they offer something for everyone, bringing the community together in a stunning location where people can enjoy a range of free activities and performances.
“Events are an integral part of our cultural fabric and form an important strand in our corporate plan, supporting local performers and businesses, driving footfall and increasing dwell time in the town centre. These events punctuate the year and add colour and vibrancy to our community calendar.”
The programme will open with The First Wave on Saturday 4th July from 10am to 6pm. The event will feature live performances from Chris Hogg, a K-Pop tribute act, and The Qwest, with Radio Newquay keeping the energy up throughout the day. The opening session coincides with the BIG Newquay Market and the Newquay Carnival, creating a full programme of activity across the town.
This will be followed by the Country Hoedown, which will take place on Saturday 18th July from 12pm to 8pm. This event will showcase a range of country and western-inspired performances, including The Cornish Cowboy, Bow River and Deeks Cowboys, alongside line dancing and family-friendly entertainment throughout the day.
The annual School’s Out Disco will take place on Saturday 25th July from 1pm to 3pm. This session is aimed at younger audiences and will provide a fun and welcoming way to mark the start of the summer holidays.
The series continues with the Sunset Session on Saturday 15th August from 3pm to 9pm. This new addition to the Sessions line-up will include DJ sets and live performances from DJ Jamie Elliott, DJ Proof and Sean Lloyd, and DVotion.
The final event, People’s Playlist, will be held on Saturday 22nd August from 12pm to 8pm, with a line-up chosen by the community. Showcasing a variety of local talent, the line-up includes Amy Todd, Joe Hurworth, COLOUR – The Band, C Bone and Still Dizzy, with Radio Newquay supporting the event across the day.
All events in the Newquay Sessions programme are free to attend, with no tickets required. Bar facilities will be available at the events, excluding the School’s Out Disco, and all sessions are open to all ages.
