Hold onto your lightsabers, dust off your Cosplay costumes and get ready to experience the magic of geek culture as a new festival comes to Cornwall this summer.
Geek Expo is taking place at Stithians Showground on the 14 & 15 June and traders, bands and local community groups are invited to sign up to be a part of this fun-filled weekend.
Geek Expo organiser Mark Martin is a huge fan of films and popular culture and has been attending similar events for years. 'There's a real camaraderie at these festivals,' he says, 'with no negativity, where we all look forward to meeting up and admiring each other's costumes. There's a whole universe of fandom and I want to bring it to Cornwall.'
So what can you expect at Geek Expo 2025? At its heart it's a celebration of all things pop culture, including comics, movies, anime, video games and more. There'll be costumes, displays, a marketplace full of collectibles, a Viking camp, re-enactments, live action role playing, stalls, food wagons, games, Cosplay competitions, live music and more. At the Saturday night after-party, there'll be a quiz with a twist, bands and a silent disco.

Mark also wants to hear from local bands who'd like the chance to perform in front of an enthusiastic crowd and he's offering the opportunity for local charities and community groups to exhibit for free to promote the work they do.
